The Boss - Great protector of gardens....

Over the last year (2013/2014) I began to save aluminum cans by the thousands.  I set out to
gather 614 lbs of cans!  This is only one of the pictures!  WOW.....

Early stages of the flower!

I felt the need to use some of these tires.  What a dirty world....

(AFTER) This is June 16, 2014!  There will be several hundreds of bee's and some butterflies that will visit my garden.  I would guess that I will contribute greatly to this years honey collection!

(BEFORE) I loaded up the car!  This is the early stages of my sunflower garden.....(nothing)!
This is still early April!  A garden in the making.....

The opposite of the street there is a sign.....

This is the beginning of the story.  On my many journeys of travel in the south suburbs of Chicago, I came across a dump site.  This is what it looked like.

I thought I would try to create a mason/leaf cutter larvae box.  I have 3 bee boxes hanging
in my yard.  So far, all of the units are empty (the ones I hung on the line outside)!  I actually
sold this bee house on ETSY.com!

Welcome.....

Hello and welcome to Bees and Butterflies!

I would like to introduce myself as an avid gardener, a bee hugger and a butterfly chaser.
Every year my yard is covered with sunflower plants to which, I never planted one seed.
I make it a point to attract bee, butterfly, squirrel and other small critters to my yard.
There is plenty to eat and drink!  Please join me!
